JANET HART SPELLERBERG…(nee McBride) was [i]born December 13, 1916 in Washington, DC and died December 15, 2017 in Hillsboro Oregon. She is survived by her three children, Jeanne Spellerberg Mazzullo of Harrison NY, Kathleen Janet Spellerberg of Beaverton, OR, and James Edward Spellerberg (Susan Lundy) of Fairfax, CA. One grandchild, Gregory Hart Spellerberg of San Francisco, also survives. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Sara Hart Denton of Spokane, Washington, her son-in-law Charles Mazzullo of Harrison NY and her husband, Edward Lynch Spellerberg of Palm Bay, Florida.
Janet was the only child of Agnes (Hart) McBride and Charles J (Jack) McBride. She graduated from Catholic University of Washington D.C. and Wilson’s Teachers College in 1943 with a Masters Degree in English.
She was a teacher in the school systems in Washington, DC and Westchester County, New York, teaching English and French. She was an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering with the SMART literacy program in Oregon, and reading to elementary school children.
We celebrate her life and will miss her deeply.
She will be buried in Palm Bay, Florida next to her beloved husband Edward.
