A Funeral Service will be held at Southwest Church of Christ in Tigard on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 1:00 PM, with a private interment at Willamette National Cemetery at a later date.
Lillian, known to all as “Geri” was the sixth of thirteen children born to Elijah and Nancy Ann (Cone) Pugh in Nashville, Tennessee. Geri attended high school in Nashville, enjoyed many trips to Florida during her youth and spent a few years working at Kroger. She met her husband Jim in Nashville in 1948. He was playing music at a local venue and knew the second time he saw Geri that she would be his wife. Along with another band mate they made a trip to Georgia on December 6, 1948 to get married.
Geri and Jim decided to relocate to California in 1950, where their son, Derek was born. They spent many years in California where Geri worked at Wool Worth and then became the manager of a drapery store. Every two years as a family, they would drive back to Nashville, which eventually allowed them to see quite a few sites along the way. They visited the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite and many other National Parks. Jim and Geri were involved in a serious automobile accident in 1968, which limited Geri’s ability to work and compromised her mobility. Jim retired from his career at the Water District in 1981. After retirement the couple moved to a mountain home in California for 8 years. They were involved with the Church of Christ in Murphys, California. In 2008 they relocated to Beaverton, Oregon to join Derek, who has lived in Oregon since 1989.
Geri was highly dedicated to her husband and entire family. She made sure that everyone was cared for. She enjoyed to be involved the most possible with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Geri is a beautiful, smart and loving woman that will be missed tremendously.
She is survived by her loving husband; Jim, son; Derek (Regina) Talley, grandchildren; Krista (Chris) Davis, James (Cynthia) Talley, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
