Lynne Bender, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, spiritual teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, in her family home in Beaverton at the age of 82 years. Born on March 8, 1943, to Edward and Betty Schneider in Los Angeles, California, she moved as a small child to the Portland area, where she resided the rest of her life. In 1959, she married her teenage sweetheart, Donald Bender, and they had three daughters together, Carol, Sandra, and Shelley. Much to her sorrow, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, and her daughter, Sandra, in 2023. She is survived by her remaining daughters, 9 grandchildren, Kaily, Matthew, Mark, Michael, Whitney, Kendall, Mitchell, Meg, and Kirsten and 8 great-grandchildren (with another on the way). She was also called “Gma” by the spouses of her grandchildren and a young family friend, who loved her like a true blood relation. To all who knew her, she was a wise counselor, a loving servant, and a light pointing the way to Jesus - a faithful follower of her Savior in every way.
Memorial Services are scheduled for June 11th, 1:00, at Beaverton Christian Church. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Beaverton Christian Church.
