

Mary R. Kennedy, 94, of Beaverton, OR passed away on a sunny Monday morning July 1, 2013. She was well-loved by five children, John (Christine) Kennedy, Barbara Kennedy, Mary Ann (Dan) Christensen, Patrick (Marianne Johnson) Kennedy, and Michael (Libby) Kennedy; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and brother Richard (Martha) Hagmann. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and son Daniel Kennedy.
Mary was born to William Hagmann and Helen Pfister August 28, 1918 in Edmonton, Canada. Her family moved to Hollywood, CA in 1919. She married her one and only, Jack Kennedy on October 2, 1942. They lived in Los Angeles, and then moved to Beaverton, OR in 1978. She attended Mercy College of Nursing in San Diego and completed her education in 1944 at San Bernardino Valley College of Nursing.
Mary studied art at Southwest Community College in Los Angeles. She enjoyed the Elsie Stuhr Center in Beaverton where she socialized, performed in musicals, and took more art classes. At home she began painting rainbows for members of her family. She always had time to pray, to listen to your story, and to play a good game of checkers.
Mary’s funeral was held July 3, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she had been a member for 35 years. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Church, 13715 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton, OR 97005.
