Patricia (Phelan) Weigand lost her courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer on November 11, 2012. She died peacefully at home in Beaverton, Oregon, surrounded by family. Patricia was born in Denver, Colorado, on November 22, 1940. Pat attended parochial schools in Denver, obtaining degrees in both teaching and counseling. She taught in Denver, Okinawa, Germany and Spain before moving to Oregon in 1971. She married Ray Weigand March 23, 1972 and became a wife and stay-at-home mom, before going back to attain her third masters degree and returning to the classroom in the 1980’s. Pat was revered by students, teachers and parents in her position as school counselor and teacher.
Pat is survived by her children: Tim Weigand, Kathleen Peterson, and Jenni Weigand and six grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be November 20, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5105 SW Franklin Ave., Beaverton, Oregon. Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
