Phil was my brother from the moment I arrived on this earth, although he was much more excited about Alan's arrival than mine. When our parents brought Al home from the hospital, Phil said, "Oh! You had a boy! Just for me!"

Phil had many gifts. He was smart, funny, athletic, and very popular in high school. His sport was football. He played tight end and was so fast! He also loved track, but I think it was a distant second to football.

His first marriage to Joni Louise Bryan in 1980 produced a daughter in 1982. Chereé was her daddy's girl.

Phil married his high school sweetheart in 1999. In 2000 they had the son they always suspected was waiting for them. Tyler is an athlete, like his dad.

A work injury sidelined Phil in 1994, and he spent the remainder of his life on disability. He was a shooting star. We'll never forget him.

Phil was my high school sweetheart and my first love. Together we share our son, Tyler. Ty gets much of his athletic ability from his dad and is now at the University of Hawaii on a baseball scholarship. Oddly enough, Phil was offered a football scholarship at same university when he graduated from high school many years ago. Phil’s favorite number was “13” and he wore it well on his football jerseys. I will miss him every single day for the rest of my life.

When turning to Phillipians 1:3, it reads... “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you”....
