Steve You would be proud of the “ Eagles Nest “ Tyler , Rico , and Monica have done an amazing job of holding all of us together etc , and we all carry on your legacy of having fun , what I have learned is it’s all about the people not just are beloved Eagles. Thank for bringing great people into my life ! Fly Eagle Fly Steve !

Steve was like a bonus dad growing up. I’ve known him since I was 12. Heather and I hung out many weekends during our teenage years  at his house with our friend group. I remember his train room, his love of hockey, him cleaning up before the housekeeper would come, and him cheering us on at our soccer games.  Most recently, it was great catching up with him at Fourth of July BBQ’s and going out to brunch with him, Heather, and my dad. We enjoyed listening to his Vietnam stories and watching his slideshows. He will be missed. Love to his family.

I don’t remember exactly when I met Steve but as teenagers we hung out together. We would get together every Friday or Saturday night, we seemed to eat out a lot. We also spent time going to Atlantic City. Rest In Peace Steve.

I have known Steve since the 4th grade when I moved to Philadelphia.  He was a member of our group that got together almost every weekend.  After I got married, he used to attend and have a lot of fun in our annual Christmas parties.  Steve, say hello to Sandy for me.

You will be missed.

In 2007 when I moved back to Portland, I was looking for fellow Eagle fans and wasn’t sure where to go or if they existed!

I wandered into a bar I heard had some fans , the “ Eagles Nest “ at JB O’Briens, low and behold the rumors were true ! I walked in not knowing anyone and there was this guy shouting out between quarters 50/50 , and Shut the blank up , I figured well he must be their leader and I introduced myself .  If you knew Steve he was a smart ass then , lol , but took the time to make me feel very welcome and introduced me to many of my Eagle friends I have til this day . 

Over time I nick named him and a table of grey haired gentlemen , The “ Eagle Elders “  and over the years I have joked that Rico  was Steve’s son etc etc . 

My point is although he joked he instantly made me feel part of the “ club” and for years continued to be a great guy that everyone gave a hard time too , and was always a great sport ! 

Here it is 13-14 years later many fun, frustrating ( playoff loses ) and most importantly my Sunday’s I value working so much with people that are just truly a great fun bunch, and I always saw Steve no matter what as our leader of fun ! Our “ Eagle Elder “ I will miss him dearly BUT here is the best way to sum up Steve”s unselfish nature, he wanted us all to have fun and my time on Sundays has been well spent since that day I wandered into O’Briens ! Thank you Steve your number one ! And of course will live on every Sunday inside all of us !!!!  Fly Steve Fly !
