Warren Smith passed away on May 14, 2026. He was born on June 14, 1952, in the Bronx, New York. Warren was the oldest son of Haywood and Lula Smith. He left New York to attend college in New Mexico, then moved on to Eugene, Oregon for several years before settling in Beaverton, Oregon, where he established a new life.
Wherever Warren went, he brought people together. Beloved and cherished by many, he was known for a kind-hearted, compassionate spirit, a generous nature, and a thoughtful way of showing up for others. He also carried a steady sense of humor that made him the life of the party—an easy presence, a warm smile, and an uplifting energy that friends and family found deeply inspirational. In the ways that matter most, Warren was a patriarch in the truest sense: someone whose care, steadiness, and loved helping to shape the lives around him.
A staunch lover of Jazz and the Blues, Warren found joy and meaning in the music and developed close relationships with some of the musicians and fellow followers who shared that passion. His love of these sounds and the community around them reflected the same openness and generosity that defined his life.
Warren has now reuniting with his mother and father, Haywood and Lula Smith, and with his sister Yvette(Howard) and nephew Tyler, who preceded him in death.
Warren leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Derrick (Toni) and Andrew; one nephew, Christopher; one niece, Alexis (Doug); one grandniece, Robin; and a host of relatives and friends. He also leaves behind countless friends who loved him and will miss his smiling face and easy-going temperament.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all his friends for their expressions of love and support.
Warren’s desire was to have his ashes scattered in Maui, Hawaii.
