

CHARLES RAY “CHARLIE” McKINNEY ROCK LICK – Charles Ray “Charlie” McKinney, 82, of Rock Lick, went home to Heaven where he can hear, talk, and walk for miles with Jesus and his loved ones on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Hilltop Center. Born on October 9, 1932 at Summerlee, he was the son of the late Hubert and Nina McKinney. Charlie attended the Romney Institute for the Deaf and Blind. He enjoyed collecting old model cars, clocks, and bottles. He had a wide range of interest which included fishing, taking pictures of old homes, and walking to Thurmond. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Frances Rhodes; three brothers, Hubert E. McKinney, Glenn Earl McKinney, and Elmer “Buck” McKinney; two nephews, Jimmy McKinney and Allen F. Stevens, Jr. Left to cherish his memory include his sister, Drema McKinney Stevens and her husband, Allen “Steve” Stevens of Oak Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Lewis Sanson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the funeral home.
