In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister Gladys Chandler.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Anne Griffith, of Hilltop; sisters, Viva Rhodes of Clay County and Jessie Griffith of Beckley; brothers, Timmy Griffith of Beckley and Benny Griffith of North Carolina.
David was a proud veteran serving his time in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then spent his career as a taxi cab driver. He was also a member of Page Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed building birdhouses.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at the funeral home.
Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, will be assisting the family.
