Alfred was born on October 13th 1951, to Alfred Jones Jr. and Mary Jane Maddox Jones.
He was married to Pamela Starr DeWitt Jones on March 11th 2001 at Falls Park in Pendleton,
Indiana. He was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in 1971. He was drafted into the Army
where he served in the Vietnam War from 1971 to 1972. In the Army he earned his Purple heart,
Silver and Bronze Star medal and ribbons along with many other medals, ribbons and patches.
He received his Professional Engineering License from University of Wisconsin. Alfred was a
Deputy Sheriff of Madison County for 16 years retiring in 1993 he also worked for the state of
Indiana at Pendleton Reformatory for 33 years retiring in 2012. He became the Commander of
the American Legion Post 88 in 2022-2024.
Alfred is preceded in death by both Paternal and Maternal grandparents, parents Alfred
Jones Jr. and Mary Jane Maddox Jones, brother Donald (Donny) Jones, sister Darlene
(Blondie) Russell and grandson Keeton James Mountcastle.
Alfred is survived by wife Pamela Starr Jones, Children Amy Smith aka Suzie (Montez
Jones Jr.), Derek aka Lugnut (Jaimie) Mountcastle, Kyle Eugene (Chris) Mountcastle, Ciara
Jones aka Big Red Truck (Kota Reeves), Jason and Jesse Jones. Sisters Sharon Combs, Vicki
(David) Patterson, Melissa (Robert) Deaton. Brothers Larry Jones, Ray (LInda) Jones, Sister in
Laws Sue Jones, Linda (Dale) Stump, Penny (Ralph) Mullins and Brother in Law Tim DeWitt.
Special friends Donna (Keith) Schakel. 6 Granddaughters Alexia Rininger (Dustin Evans),
Morgan Gress, Emma Sayre, Makinlee Mountcastle, Serenity and Frankie. 13 Grandsons
Bentley and Aiden Mountcastle, Mason, Dean and Colt Mountcastle, Jaxon, Douglas and
Deklan Jones, Percy and Jason, Braedon Beck, Elijah Jones and Colin and 1 Great Grandson
Conner Evans.
Visitation for Alfred will be held at Little and Sons BG Chapel at 1301 Main St. Beech Grove,
Indiana on Friday April 18th from 10am-2PM. Funeral Services will also be held at Little and
Sons BG Chapel with Mike Mcguire/Jerry Morgan starting at 2PM with Military Honors to follow.
