Carl J. Wert

Born December 27, 1949, in South Bend, Carl was the son of Milo and Dorothy (Connelly) Wert. He attended school in Lebanon before continuing on to college, graduating from Indiana University. Over the course of his working life, Carl brought steady dedication and quiet professionalism to a range of roles—serving as a police officer and later working as a manager for various companies.

Carl’s faith was an important part of his life, and he valued being involved in church. He will be remembered for an infectious smile and laugh that could brighten a room, and for the genuine warmth he extended to those around him. A devoted car enthusiast, Carl especially loved Studebakers, taking great joy in the character and history they carried.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Dorothy (Connelly) Wert, and his brother, Larry J. Wert.

He is survived by his son, Michael S. Wert of Carmel, IN; his brother, Ronald J. Wert and his wife, Ruth Irene Wert of Scottsdale, AZ; his grandchildren, Milo and Cole Wert; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cremation will be handled by Little & Sons Funeral Home, with a private service to be held at a later date.
