Charl "Chuck" Gene Cornelius

Charl was born at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Indiana to Howard C. Cornelius and Margaret Isgrigg on July 3, 1947. He went to school at Tech and Ben Davis High School. He married Deborah M. Miller on September 25, 2010 in Beech Grove, Indiana. He worked as a delivery driver and a dog catcher for the City of Indianapolis. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army from August 30, 1966 - June 2, 1969 51st Artillary Big Red One.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Margaret, sister Bobby Mallory, brother Howard Glen "Skip" Cornelius.

Chuck is survived by his wife Deborah, sister Lynda Stephanoff, brother Russell "Rusty" Cornelius, children Alicia Stone, Charl Gene "Chuckie" Cornelius Jr. (Dee), Brian Michael Cornelius, Kyle Thomas Cornelius, step children Nichole M. Davis, Amy Renee Smock, niece Kim Tumari, grand children Brooke Petty, Cassie Neville (Laura), Derek Petty (Sarah), Andrew Petty (Maria), Libby Smock, Chase Smock, Bryce Smock, Tyler Smock, and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11AM-1PM on Thursday, July 23rd at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St. Beech Grove, IN 46107. Funeral service to follow at 1PM. Procession and burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to HVAF in lieu of flowers. The family of Chuck wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all nursing staff on 8South and the ICU and imaging services at the Richard Roudebush Veterans Hospital and those who attended the honors escort.
