Charles Bernard "Charlie" Breeding, age 74, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023. Charlie was born in Indianapolis to the late Dorcas (Lowes) and George Breeding. He grew up in Wanamaker and loved The Ordinary and his alma mater Franklin Central High School. Charlie was as friendly to the birds and squirrels that regularly visited his well-stocked feeders as he was to newly-found friends that he would regale with tales of glory from his younger days. He was a true lover of all things living (except other drivers on the road who were all out to get him.) Charlie was a genuine gentleman and scholar and would proudly quote classics that he had read decades earlier while a student at Indiana University. After graduation, he worked for many years as a Buyer for Amtrak and later in sales. He remained an avid IU fan all his life and had countless lifelong friends with whom he remained in regular contact. As Chuck he was a devoted, loving husband to his wife, Jane. As Poppy he was an affectionate, caring grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of two. It was clear to all of those who were lucky enough to cross paths with Charlie, that he cherished every moment spent with them (except the other drivers mentioned earlier.)
Charlie is survived by his wife, Jane (Linton) Breeding; daughters, Robin Stucker (Zachary) and Beth Anne Orcutt-Almond (Susan); grandchildren, Angela Floren (Jeff), Alex Stucker (Addy), Matthew Stucker (April), Dylan Stucker, Rudy Stucker (Amanda), Ivan Orcutt, Ian Orcutt, and Kimmi Almond; and twin great grandchildren, Foster and Asher.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer with his family and friends at the neighborhood clubhouse.
