Despite never being married, he had the largest group of lifelong friends that he cherished. He loved them all and they filled his life with memories and companionship. This is written by one of his friends, Jeremiah:
Dave Farris was a truly remarkable person whose curiosity, intelligence, humor, and friendship left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Dave had an incredible mind and an endless curiosity about the world around him. He loved history and could spend hours sharing fascinating facts, stories, and pieces of knowledge that most people would never think to ask about. He was an avid reader, a lover of trivia, and someone who always seemed to know something interesting about almost everything. He especially enjoyed board games, where his intelligence, strategy, and competitive spirit could shine. Whether sitting around a table with friends or engaged in a long conversation,Dave was always fully present and ready to participate. He also had a passion for brewing beer, appreciating both the craft itself and the conversations and experiences that came along with it. But more than any hobby or interest, Dave will be remembered for the kind of friend he was. He was an incredible friend—someone who was always willing to listen, talk, laugh, debate, or simply spend time together. You could bring Dave almost any subject, and he would gladly dive into a conversation. His brilliance was matched by his willingness to share it, and conversations with him often lasted far longer than anyone intended because there was always one more thought, one more story, or one more question. Dave had a rare ability to make people think. He challenged those around him, not out of arrogance, but because he genuinely loved ideas, conversation, and learning. His curiosity was contagious, and his friendship was something to be treasured. Those who knew Dave will miss his wit, his knowledge, his stories, his questions, his laughter, and the countless conversations that seemed to make time disappear. The world feels a little less interesting without him in it, but the memories, lessons, stories, and friendships he leaves behind will continue. Dave Farris was one of a kind. He was brilliant, curious, passionate, and, aboveall, a wonderful friend. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
