David Allen Johnes, born on December 6, 1958, in Beech Grove, Indiana, passed away on January 31, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 67. He was a graduate of Manual High School and was employed by the Family and Social Services Administration for 35 years. David was a member of Capitol City Conservation Club.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Leona Johnes, and his brother, Robert "Bob" Johnes. He is survived by his brother, Gerald (Patricia Sovinski) Johnes, and his nieces, Tracy Hutchings and Kimberly (Jesse) Spurling. He also leaves behind his nephew, Connor Sovinski, and great-nieces, Avery Hutchings and Isla Hutchings, along with many cousins.
David had a passion for fishing and was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University. His love for these activities and teams will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
