Doris Polsley Gay

She was born on July 5, 1936, in Goose Rock, Kentucky.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Carroll Lee Polsley; parents, Taylor and Bessie Harris; siblings, Charlie “Cuz” Harris, Daisy Bowling, Della Long, Dorothy (Daniel) Hammock, Cread “Jack” (Madge) Harris, Donetta (Cecil) Keehn, Diane (Donald) Newerth, Delva Jean (Carl) Ayres, Carl “Champ” (Joyce) Harris; and one grandson.

She is survived by her children, Karen Polsley, Kathy Shaw, Warren Taylor Polsley, and Kelly Clarke; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

After the passing of Carroll in 2004, she married Garrett Gay in 2009. This union extended her family by 4 more children, Lorri (Larry) Strickland, Sherry Hart, Glenda (Harold) Conner, Michael (Susie) Gay; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of Southwood Baptist Church and The Sanctuary for many years. She retired from RCA in 1996 after 31 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed playing card games with her friends and family, especially Euchre. She was an avid fan of Indiana sports teams, including the Colts, Pacers, Fever, and Hoosiers, and loved cheering them on, even when she could no longer see them play. She cherished her family and found the greatest joy in watching her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild grow up and spending time with each of them. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove, IN 46107, on August 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to follow. Doris will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood.
