Elton "Sonney" William Chamberlain

Elton “Sonney” William Chamberlain, 87, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on December 16, 2023. He was born on April 11, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Earl and Mildred Chamberlain. Sonney was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He would often spend time outside where you could find him fishing or gardening. Sonney had quite a few good jokes up his sleeve and wasn’t afraid to share them with others. He retired from Nativity Catholic School where he served as a janitor. His job at Nativity meant the world to him because he enjoyed the relationships he built with the students there.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Cort and Chris Chamberlain; infant granddaughter, Courtney Lee Chamberlain; sister, Lois Goforth; brother, Gilbert Chamberlain; and son-in-law, Jim Adams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; daughter, Dee Adams; step children, Pam Rush, Ed (Lisa) Cruser, Mark Cruser, and Lorie (Pat) Deiter; brother, Paul (Becky) Chamberlain; sister, Gayle (John) Titone; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home – Beech Grove, 1301 Main St., Beech Grove, IN 46107. Burial will be held in Acton Cemetery following the funeral.
