He was born in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Gerald and Naomi Dingess. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Carole Dingess; daughter Angela (Kevin) Jackson; step-daughters Tiffany (Ron) Burkhart, and Emily (Keith) McAffee; step-son Todd (Jessica) Stowell; grandchildren Drew and Ethan Jackson, Jasmin Burkhart, Zach, Grant, and Nolan Stowell, Haley, Rylan, and Keegan McAffee; brother Richard Dingess; niece Kerry Dingess; and nephews Jeremy and Travis Dingess. Gerald was preceded in death by his son Anthony Dingess and brother Gary Dingess.
Gerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He loved to laugh and people were always drawn to him. He had many friends who he loved as well.
He loved to watch his grandkids play sports. No matter how he felt, he missed very few games.
Gerry also enjoyed golfing. In the last year, he was able to golf quite a bit and had just gotten back from a nice golfing vacation.
There is so much more we would all like to say. He always put others before himself. His family was his world. He wanted all his grandkids to feel special and loved. He had a laugh you could hear from far away and know it was his. He never met a stranger.
He always wanted to give back and live life to it's fullest.
He enjoyed life and taught us all that we should as well.
