

Harvey Harrison Schlatter passed away on January 25, 2012 in Beech Grove, IN. Harvey was born in Harmony, IN to the late Oscar and Alice Schlatter. He was 89.Harvey graduated from Van Buren High School and attended Indiana State before joining the Marines. He served three years in the South Pacific during WWII. Harvey finished his degree at Indiana University and taught high school music at various high schools? He also played his favorite instrument, the trumpet, throughout central Indiana with several combos. Harvey retired from teaching in 1983. He then worked for Bank One for 10 years and retired permanently in 1993.Harvey is survived by his loving wife Katherine, his daughters; Alyca(Jim)Basch and Janna DeWitt and his son Kurt(Tammy)Schlatter. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Mark Schlatter and granddaughter Kimberly DeWitt.A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 2-5 p.m. in Little and Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel, 1301 Main St. Beech Grove, IN 46107.Harvey suffered greatly from Alzheimer’s and will be dearly missed.
