

Hilfred “John” Hoffman, age 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. John was born July 29, 1930 in Muscatine, Iowa to the late Hilda and Fred Hoffman. He graduated from the University of Toledo. He married Clara Kaiser on July 28, 1951.
The majority of John’s career was as a registered x-ray technician, instructor and hospital administrator at various hospitals, and later became a radiology equipment salesman after retiring from St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, IN. He was a member of Nativity Catholic Church in Indianapolis. John was an avid golfer with memberships at multiple Golf Clubs, and had participated successfully in several ranked tournaments and senior pro events. As a result of his activities as a member of the Air Force while serving in Korea, John developed a lifelong love of flying. After earning his civilian license, he owned several planes while serving as a flight instructor at a privately owned airport in Illinois. Along with golf and flying, his next preoccupation was the care and maintenance of his cars, which he always kept in pristine condition.
John is survived by two daughters and two sons, a grandson, a great-grandson, and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, an infant son, and adult son, his parents, and sister.
Funeral services will be held at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove on Tuesday, April 29th from 10AM – 12PM. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
