Dr. Howard M. Alig

Dr. Howard M. Alig, 78 of Indianapolis passed away on July 4, 2021. He was born on September 12, 1942 to the late Mary and Howard Alig. Dr. Alig was an ophthalmologist for over 50 years. He went above and beyond for his patients making sure they received the very best care possible. He was married to his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Diane Alig for over 50 years. He was a loving father and grandpa who enjoyed golfing, auto racing, and spending time on the beach watching the sunset. Dr. Alig was a generous member of Holy Name Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children; Bryan (Stephanie) Alig, Rachel (Michael) Montgomery and Libby Haug, grandchildren; Madison, Caden and Gavin Alig and Ava Grace Montgomery, siblings; Joe Alig, Rosemary (Doug) Woolery, Bill Alig, Cindy (Chuck) Morgan and Ben (Debbie) Alig.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife; Diane Alig.

Visitation will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in Beech Grove on Tuesday, July13, 2021 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Holy Guardian Angels Church in Cedar Grove, Indiana at 11:00am. Burial will follow immediately.
