Jay Allen Jones

83, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 18, 2017. Jay was born in Silver City, Iowa to Dutch and Wilma Jones on January 13, 1934. Jay moved to Bloomington, Indiana where he worked at RCA for several years before moving to Indianapolis. Jay was the proud owner of L-J TV Repairs on South Meridian for over 30 years and the owner of Electric Sun Tanning. He enjoyed chatting with his customers, volunteering at Community South Hospital, and watching the Indianapolis Colts. He will be dearly missed by his children, Randy (Sondra) Jones and Rick (Cheryl) Jones; his grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Stephanie Whitton, Suzanne Whitton, Shana Swartzell, and Jeannie Kennell; his great grandchildren, Liam Short and Beau Liebner; his sisters, Alene (Tucker) Ord and Alyce (Charles) Haynes; and his former wife, Joan Ferguson Carter. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Lukas Jones and long-time companion, Becky Mayo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 4pm until the time of service at 7pm at Little and Sons Beech Grove Chapel.
