Jean Orme

Jean Orme was a loving, strong, hard working woman. She was Mother of 5, grandmother to 13, and great-grandmother to 13. She was born October 12, 1923 and died September 16, 2010. Known to many as “Jeanie”, her working world and many friends were customers at the Flamingo Restaurant, Graylyn & Marott Hotel restaurants and the Antelope Club. In her retirement, Jean enjoyed playing cards at Christian and Brookside Parks and St. Roch Church.

Her children, Barb Skillman (Hap), Jack Orme (Brenda), Cindy Porteous (Mark), Jeff Orme (Shelia), and Jennifer Orme knew her as someone who gave unconditional love, was always kind, honest and asked little of others but gave much of herself. She was “Grams” or “ Granny” to her grandchildren and “GG” to her great grandchildren who appreciated her, will miss her laughter, and support, and her fried chicken.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Orme, father, George Christensen, mother, Garnet Woodruff, sister, Gertrude Hewitt, and brother Jack Christensen. Friends are invited to visit with Jean’s Family on Tuesday September 21 from 5-7 PM at Little & Sons 1301 Main St., Beech Grove, Indiana.
