

John Mark Huffman, age 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. John was born in Camp Atterbury, Indiana. John Mark Huffman was born December 13, 1953 at Camp Atterbury in Columbus, Indiana, the only child of John Mark Huffman and Dona Darline Ratliff, unexpectedly passed away February 21, 2024, he was one of a kind and will greatly be missed.
John grew up and spent his whole life in Indianapolis and was known as “Johnny Mark” to his family. He was a huge Nascar fan, Dale Sr. was his all time favorite driver, he was also a big Colts fan even when he was yelling at the T.V. because someone done something wrong. He liked watching wrestling and was a huge fan of Undertaker. He also watched the Price is Right everyday and always had to tell the people on the show that they were wrong or bid too high. He also enjoyed playing pool, fishing, playing cards, and he always loved when his brother in law put on a concert for the family.
On October 22, 1983 he married Cindy Ruth Walker and just three days later they welcomed their only child Stephanie Ann Huffman.
Those who knew John knew that his daughter was the light in his eyes and there is nothing he wouldn’t have done for her. When she married her husband Brian Patrick Hagan, that gave John and Cindy the son they never had, and John loved him just like he was his own. John’s light in his eye got even brighter when his three grandchildren were born Dewayne Mark Hagan, Derik Mikal Hagan, and Destiny Marie Hagan. He was very proud to be their grandfather and loved them all so very much.
John is survived by his wife of 40 years Cindy, his daughter Stephanie and his son in law Brian, his three grandchildren Dewayne, Derik, and Destiny. His brother in laws Fred (Butch)and wife Lynne, Paul and wife Robin, Luther (Luke), Gary and wife Julie, and Michael (Mike) Walker. His Aunt Linda Abell and her children Lawrence (Larry), Rebecca (Becky), William (Tony), and Ronald (Ronnie), Aunt Gail Atkinson and her children Diana (Diane), Jerry (Mike), Randall (Randy) and Cindy, Aunt Nancy (Fay) Peyton and her children Rosie, Kimberly (Kim), Denise and Jeffrey (Jeff). His Uncle Tom’s daughters Beverly and Paula and a whole bunch of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Clifford Bruce Huffman & Fern Isola Moore Huffman, and Tilden (Tony) Earl Ratliff & Rosamond Josephine Bock Ratliff. His step father Merritt (Mike) Vern Reed, step brothers Fredrick Vern and David Bruce Reed. His Aunt Dorothy Rosamond Huffman, Uncle Charles Melvin Lace, Aunt Louiene (Lou) Lace and her son Samuel (Sam) David Sever, Uncle Bruce Robert Huffman, Uncle James (Jim) Dale Huffman, Uncle Thomas(Tom) Paul Huffman and daughters Sandra Elaine and Terri Lynn Huffman, his cousin Terri Ann Peyton Herrmann, father in law Fred Wilbur Walker, mother in law Barbara Janet Lawson, sister in law Diana (Susie) June Walker Deaton, and brother in law Randall Wayne Walker.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. all at Little & Son Funeral Home-Beech Grove, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove, anyone who would like to speak may do so if they wish. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
