John O. Morton 86, of Greenwood, passed away on March 14, 2012 in Community Hospital South Campus. Mr. Morton was born at home in Indianapolis to the late Raymond and Inez Morton. He married M. Jane(Reed) Uhls on June 6, 1976. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2004. Mr. Morton was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Navy. He worked as a baker for the Omar Bakery as well as the Kroger Bakery. He retired from Allison’s plant #8 in 1991 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Mason’s #714. Mr. Morton was an avid fisherman and a meticulous woodworker.
He is survived by 4 daughters; Patty Haemmerle, Barbara Beemer, Marsha(Matthew)Allee and Carolyn German. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service at 1p.m. in Little and Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel.
