Obituary of John Daniel Sullivan
John Daniel Sullivan, Indianapolis, born on November 9, 1940, to John and Martha Sullivan, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, at the age of 83. A proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School class of 1958, John's high school romance blossomed into a beautiful marriage with his love, Anita, that lasted an extraordinary 64 years. Their love and commitment saw the birth of six children, who gave them the joy of seven grandchildren. John devoted seven years of service to our country as a Corporal in the Marine Corps and the reserves, creating memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime. A dedicated worker, he gave 35 years to Chrysler, where he retired as a Quality Control Facilitator. In his personal life, John embraced the joy of coaching Beech Grove little league baseball and basketball, influencing the lives of many young sportsmen and women. His leadership extended to serving as a scout leader and on the board of directors for the Franklin Township Civic League, touching numerous lives through his civic engagement. For 60 years, John was a dedicated member of the Holy Name Catholic Church, where he practiced his faith with devotion and served his community with humility. John was preceded in death by his sons: John L., Jeffrey, and Michael and his brother Steve. He is survived by his siblings: Michael and Sandy and his wife, Anita, and children: Scott (Lori), Julie (James), and Paul (Lynette) and seven grandchildren: Megan, Riley, Jordan, Zachary, Sean, Connor, and Lauren. A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. A catholic funeral mass will occur Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N 17th Ave, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107. John will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, 435 W Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.
