
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johnny Gene Hayden Jr., who was born October 3, 1967, in Danville, Illinois, and passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 58. A resident of Beech Grove, Indiana, Johnny will be remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, son, and friend whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and steady care to those around him.
Johnny had a generous spirit and a steady willingness to show up for others—often in quiet, practical ways, and sometimes with a well-timed joke that could lift a heavy moment. He carried himself with a sincere kindness and a selfless concern for the people in his life, leaving an imprint on many through simple acts of compassion, a listening ear, and an open heart.
Above all, Johnny loved his family. He took deep pride in his children and grandchildren, treasuring the time spent together and holding close the everyday moments that become lifelong memories. His love was constant, and those who knew him best will remember the strength of his devotion and the warmth he brought to his home and relationships.
Johnny also held a deep love for Jesus, and his faith remained a source of strength through life’s joys and challenges. Those who loved him find comfort in believing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with those who went before him.
Johnny is survived by his daughter, Tamra (Jason Farris) Hayden; his son, Timothy (Lisa) Hayden; stepchildren: Dillon (Shelby Davis) Parris, Thomas (Alaina) Powers and Avary Parris.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Rilee, Gabby, Bella, Addison, Jack, Layla, and Trenton. He also leaves behind his sister, Crystal Boyd, and his brothers, Rick Hayden, Willmer Hayden, and Christopher Evans.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Delores Ann Hayden and Johnny Gene Hayden Sr.
