

Kenneth Owen Rohrer passed away from kidney disease on October 27, 2025 at the age of 67. Ken was born in Gary, Indiana in 1958, 1st born son of the late Bryce Rohrer, and Barbara Rohrer. His family moved to Walkerton, Indiana in 1959. Ken lived there until he graduated from John Glenn High School. Ken earned his undergraduate degree in art education from Ball State University and his graduate degree in school administration from Indiana University, Indianapolis. Ken received the Indiana Art Teacher of the Year award from the Art Education Association of Indiana in 1994.
Ken married Debra Ann Fink and divorced 30 years later. Together they raised a son, Benjamin Rohrer, in Chesterton and Indianapolis. Ken has three step-sons, Zachary, Brian, and Michael Fink.
Ken taught art and was a principal, assistant principal, and dean of students at several different schools. At retirement, Ken was a case manager for the Department of Child Services in Indiana. Ken maintained a website called the Incredible Art Department that received millions of visitors a year. Ken attended services at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, prayer meeting at Southside Seventh Day Adventist, and singles group at Indianapolis Baptist Temple.
Ken is survived by his mother, Barbara Rohrer, ex-wife Debra Rohrer, his son Benjamin Rohrer, daughter-in-law Shelby Rohrer, three stepsons Michael, Brian, and Zachary Fink, brother Wendell Rohrer, and two sisters, Kathy Frazier and Angela Kay Foresman, step-mother Carol Rohrer and step-sister Christine Stein.
His family will remember him for his quirky sense of humor, a man who collected monsters (models and anything monster related), a hobby of HAM radios, his artistic talent, love of classic rock and food, talking politics, managing the Walkerton Facebook page, being a surrogate Grandpa to the Reyes family, and a man of great faith.
Ken said he looks forward to seeing everyone together again in Heaven.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Little and Sons Funeral Home Indianapolis Chapel : 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis Indiana 46237.
An additional time for friends and family to gather will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 from 9:00am-10:00am, with a service to immediately follow. Ken will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery: 100 W South Street Franklin, IN 46131.
