Martha Jane May

Martha Jane May, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away November 28, 2019. She was born in Batesville, Indiana to the late Clyde and Lois (Tarpenning) Vankirk. She was a File Clerk with State Life Insurance Company in Indianapolis in her earlier years. She was a longtime member of Southwood Baptist Church and a Lifetime Member of the VFW Auxiliary 2999 and made an Honorary Citizen of Beech Grove for her volunteer work at St. Frances Hospital. She was a cat lover and loved being outdoors. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joye Branden, her second husband, Thurman May; her infant son, and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her good friends and neighbors Debra Brant, and Hilda and Leo, Michael and Ashley Cooper, Corey Cheshier and her church family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Little and Son Funeral Home, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Little and Son Funeral Home with Steve Meister officiating. Burial will be in the Booher Cemetery in Napoleon, Indiana.
