Michael married Belinda Davis on September 4, 2024 in Indianapolis. He graduated from Warren Central High School in 1991 and went on to complete his electrical apprenticeship with IBEW local 481 for 33 years. He was a member of Ernie Pyle VFW 1120 and The American Legion Atkins Saw Post 355.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Coful Davis; maternal grandparents: Charles and Anna Jean Trusty; Father, Eugene Davis; and his brother in law, Robert "Bob" Hatch.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Miles; daughter, Alexia Davis; son, Cody (Hanna Burdsall) Davis; sister, Amy Hatch; nieces Lauren and Lilly Hatch; his loving mother, Becky Davis; grandkids: Sofia, Bodie, Zylon and Jaxx; his ex wife, Jessica Matkins; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael was a devoted husband, Dad, proud papa, and a beloved son, brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was a hard-working man who dedicated 33 years to IBEW, building a life through his commitment, strength, and work ethic. Michael had a deep love and respect for the outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time with others who had the same passion.
His oldest, Alexia, mentioned “ I have so many memories of you that I will hold close to my heart forever. From the kick butt fish, I caught that you proudly mounted for me, to the way you were so proud of the mother I became for my kids. You were proud of me for continuing to stand strong through everything life has thrown at me”.
Cody, his son stated “you taught me what it was to be a man in this crazy world and how to navigate it to be successful and in that alone, I could never thank you enough. You showed me what true love for outdoors looked like and to preserve it for future generations, like my son. Both ended with “ I love you”.
Michael was especially proud of his title, Papa. His grandchildren held an incredibly special place in his heart, and loved them more than anything. He treasured his time with them and the memories they created together. His grandchildren will forever know him as their Papa and carry his love with them throughout their lives.
He leaves behind so many who loved him deeply, and whose lives are forever changed. Though he is no longer here to make new memories, the memories he gave all of us will remain deep in our hearts through stories, remembering his laugh, and wisdom..
And now from me to you, you are not just the man I married you are my best friend, my confidant , my date, my comedian , The one i was suppose to grow old with and travel, my love. The void in my heart is indescribable. You were so kind and complimentary to me. You always made sure I knew how much you loved me. I will miss our late nights on the porch just being in our happy place . Kali and Grizzy send all their puppy love as well. Until we meet again I will forever love you!
