

92, passed away peacefully July 1, 2014. He was born in Westfield, Indiana to the late Wyman and Capitola Thompson.
Paul served his country proudly in WW II in the Army serving as a teletype operator in the China-Burma India Theater. He retired from Eli Lilly in 1983 after 36 years of employment.
As an oly child living on a farm out in the country Paul's best friends was his dog. He loved the outdoors but often had to stay inside to do the housework so the his mother could work in the fields as she preferred.
Paul loved working with numbers, math, keeping records, etc. He studied accounting for a short time but life got in the way. Before joining the US Army he worked for Western Union in Indianapolis where he actively maintained over 200 phone numbers in his memory! His love for all things numerical definitely extended to card playikng. He loved playing cards and the more complicated the game the better. He also loved music and studied piano, accordian, trombone, and voice while he was a student. He travelled the Midwest with a youth choir during the summers starting when he was 15.
He was an active member of the First Christian Church of Beech Grove for approximately 60 years and a member of Beech Grove Masonic Lodge for over 60 years.
Paul and Betty celebrated 65 years of marriage on October 2, 2013. Shortly, after the were voted King and Queen of Hearts on Valentine's Day 2014 at the Beech Grove Meadows Senior Community.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Betty L. Thompson; sons Jay (Justine) Thompson and Philip (Patricia) Thompson; grandchildren J. Thompson, Arthur Paul Thompson, and Anne E. Thompson; great grandchildren Abigail Sue Thompson, Will Kade Thompson and Josie Nicole Thompson; Nieces Marsha Keith, Diane Cooper, Karen Garman, and Irma Shepsko.
Visitation will be held Sunday July 6th from 3:00-7:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday July 7th at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church 75 N. 10th Ave. Beech Grove, IN 46107.
