Robert W. Flynn

56, of Beech Grove passed away on October 6, 2015.Robert was born in Norfolk, Virginia and as a young boy embellished on all the childhood antics available to him. One could possibly guess that the phrase ‘boys will be boys’ could have been named particularly for him.

Robert’s family, all talented in music; together they enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, banjo and piano. Robert loved country music and the old favorites of Hank Williams and Ernest Tubbs were among his favorites. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, travel, gardening, and camping.

Robert’s employment began working for APAC asphalt plant and moved into excavating and running heavy equipment for over 30 years. He loved working outdoors and was a very hard worker.

When we married, he became an instant dad to two daughters, Michelle and Laura and a son, Daniel. Robert always felt he fell short as a father figure but if you would ask them they would give you a different story.

Robert was a simple person asking very little but gave so much. He loved his God, his family, friends and neighbors. He was “there” for so many.

He is survived by his wife; Cheryle Flynn, children; Michelle (Ronald) Kauffman, Laura (David) Leece and Daniel Reynolds, grandchildren; Abbie Henry, Andrew Barrett, Heidi Kauffman, Annabelle Leece, Allen Leece, Hunter Reynolds and Dakota Reynolds, great-grandchildren; Olivia and Ariel Henry and Zaelynn Kauffman, mother; Jeanette Flynn, siblings; Ralph (Kathy) Flynn and Jane (Dave) Layton.

We love you Robert and I thank you for almost 30 years of caring and all the love you have given to me that kept us so close. Thank you for who you were, for your unending giving, support and compassion.

You have your wings now my love, free of pain and in the loving arms of our Lord. Please know you are in our hearts forever. watch over all of us until we meet again.
