Bob was born in Noblesville, Indiana to the late William S. Gillett and W. Jean Kerlin Gillett. He attended Beech Grove High School and graduated from Indiana State University with a double major in Professional Piloting and Aviation Administration. Bob had a lifelong passion for aviation and his favorite occupation during his career years was that of flight instructor. Bob was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed scouting as a boy and then as a leader.
He is survived by his loving wife, RoseAnn (McCollum) Gillett and loving son, Jeremy R. Gillett, sister Millie Gillett and brother Jim Gillett.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 10:00 am at Little & Sons, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove, IN 46107 followed by Celebration of Life service at 11:00. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, after which time the family invites everyone to Little & Sons for food and fellowship.
