Ronald Earl Fallowfield, 83 of Indianapolis passed away on September 8, 2026 at his home after a lengthy illness. Ron was born in Beech Grove the son of the late William and Mary (Byland) Fallowfield and graduated from Beech Grove High School. Ron retired from the Beech Grove Police Department as a Captain, his career spanned 31 years beginning September 29, 1970 and retiring July 9, 2001, he was named Officer Of The Year in 1977 and received 32 Letters of Commendation. He was credited with saving numerous lives during a motel fire in Beech Grove and was nominated into the Red Cross Hall of Fame. Governor Otis Bowen presented him an award, he received the Medal of Valor, the Spartan Award for valor from the American Legion and was Police Officer of the Year from the Indiana Police League. In retirement Ron worked security at Stafford Liquor Store in Beech Grove for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 26 years, Joyce Lynn (Hilligoss) Fallowfield, infant brothers, William and Carrol, and his sister Judy Gay Fallowfield.
Ron is survived by his children, Debora Elaine (Fallowfield) Morgan, Daren Earl Fallowfield, Dadene Elizabeth Fallowfield and Jeffrey Morris Fallowfield, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his brothers, George, Walter "Bud" and John Fallowfield, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove, Indiana on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Wanamaker.
