

Rosalyn N. Helweg, 91, of Yorktown, Indiana went to be with her Lord on October 21, 2021. She was born August 16, 1930, in Duluth, Minnesota to William and Reita Gliddon. There she met the love of her life, Robert F. Helweg, and they were married September 3. 1949. They moved to Beech Grove, Indiana when Western Electric transferred Bob to the Indianapolis plant. Rose worked at Ben Franklin in Beech Grove. There they lived and raised their family. Bob and Rose were married for 68 years.
In addition to her husband, Rose was preceded in death by their first grandchild, Michelle Renee Smith.
She is survived by two children, Diann (John) Smith of Yorktown, Indiana and Robert (Lisa) Helweg of Greenwood, Indiana; six grandchildren survive her, Ryan (Seanne) Helweg, Jarrod (Rachel) Smith, Christina (Colin) Koons, Joshua (Heather) Smith, Wm. Tyler (Jessica) Helweg, and Emma Helweg; six great-grandchildren also survive her, Ally and Drew Smith, Jackson and Charlotte Koons, William "Liam" Helweg, and baby Helweg who is due in April 2022.
Rose was a loving and thoughtful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family above all else. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, camping with family and friends, and spoiling the family's fur babies.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehab for their compassionate care of Rose.
A private memorial service will be held at Little and Sons Funeral Home in Beech Grove, Indiana.
