11 years and it still seems unreal. There are so many times when things happen I think Sam would have loved this, or Sami would have loved to be here. I remind Reveille often how much you loved her and I tell Odessa how she is named after you and all the stories of our shenanigans. I know you are looking down and watching over all of us. You left such a huge impact on so many people's lives. I miss you so much.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Peavey,
I would like to tell you a small, but I believe, significant story about your wonderful daughter Sam.  We met her via the Bolling Air Force Base Child Care Referral office in early May.  She provided day care, several days a week for our two children Sawyer age 3 and Maiya age 2, while my wife and I attended a training school at Bolling.  There is nothing like making a great first impression on day one – right?  My wife finished her class on time and walked over to pick up the kids.  I was on a field trip and unexpectedly did not return until two hours after we were supposed to pick the kids up.  Wouldn't you know, I had the key to the car in my pocket…My wife and kids were stranded on the base – locked out of our car and since it was after hours she could not go back to the school house either.  Sam graciously let my wife (who she just met for the first time) and kids stay at their home until I made it back to Bolling.  For Sam's kindness to my wife and kids, I will always be grateful to your daughter.
