Seldon E. Jones, Sr. was the oldest of 10 children born to the late Seldon and Daisy(Williams)Jones in Indianapolis. He was 87. Seldon married Grace Louise Burgess in 1943. They were married for 68 years and resided in Plainfield, IN for 50 years.
Seldon is a WWII veteran serving in the US Army as a tank driver in the 8th armored 88th reconnaissance. He was in three major battles one of which was the Battle of the Bulge. He belonged to the VFW and Scottish Rite. Seldon worked at GM for 41 years, working on the Ospry and the Apollo 13 escape capsule.Seldon is survived by his loving wife Grace, daughter Michele(Mike Ross)Boling, grandson Travis W.(Aleasha Sandley)Boling, and three sisters; Carlene Walls, Betty Terrell, and Wilma Brown.He was preceded in death by his son Seldon E. Jones, Jr., two brothers and 4 sisters.Friends may call on Fri. January 20, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sat.
