91, of Zionsville, departed this life Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Thelma was born April 27, 1923 in Velpen, IN. Thelma worked as an office clerk, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Beech Grove First Christian Church, Beech Grove Senior Citizens and the AARP. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, John “Bucky” Merchat; brothers, Ed Swartz and Hershel Richardson and parents, George and Bertha Swartz. She is survived by her sons, Thomas A. (Nancy) Merchat and John M. (Sandra) Merchat and grandchildren, Joshua and Katelyn Merchat. Graveside services will be at 11;00 AM on Friday, May 9th at Bicknell Cemetery in Bicknell, IN.
