Thomas Tom Pierson

Age 81, formerly of Beech Grove, passed away May 7, 2013.

He was born March 6, 1932 in Beech Grove to the late, Edna I. (VanBenthuyson) and Archell J. Pierson. Tom graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1950 and then began employment at Eli Lily & Company where he retired after 35 years. During that time he also had a successful snow removal business. Tom also worked at Wal-Mart for 14 years, both in Indiana and Florida. He served on the board of Beech Grove City Council and was a member of the Jaycees.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Georgena (Hood); Children, Jan (Jim) Skinner, Michael, and Judy (Tom) Eagan; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and brother, Ted.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Larry Pierson; sisters, Margaret Smith and Marilyn Stiker.

After retirement Tom and Georgina spent several happy years residing in Florida. Tom’s greatest pastime was salmon fishing in Ludington, MI.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 10, 2013 at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St. Beech Grove, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. A private service will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Francis Hospice.
