

Esperanza Arellano age 96, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025 in Chino Hills, California. Born on December 21, 1928, in Blewett, Texas, she lived a long and vibrant life rooted in love, tradition, and resilience.
Esperanza was one of 13 children born to Doroteo and Soledad Ramirez and was raised in Villa de Fuente, Coahuila Mexico until the age of 17 where she married Ramon Riojas Arellano.
Together they moved to Texas and thereafter moved to California in 1949.
Esperanza was a devoted mother to her children: John Arellano, Ignatius Arellano, Rene Arellano and Esperanza Caridad Pichardo. She was preceded in death by her husband Ramon Arellano, son Rene Arellano and her Grandson Esteban Arellano. Her legacy continues through her large and loving family, including 16 grandchildren, 37 great -grandchildren, and 8 great – great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Esperanza found joy in simple pleasures that reflected her deep cultural roots and spirited personality. She had a special talent for gardening and took particular pride in growing various fruit trees and plumerias – flowers as vibrant as the life she led. The holidays were especially meaningful to her; she lovingly prepared traditional dishes such as tamales, menudo, and bunuelos that brought generations of family together around the table. Esperanza also enjoyed visiting casinos where she delighted in playing the dragon and 7’s slot machines – a pastime that brought her both excitement and laughter.
Though not a regular churchgoer, she held a profound Catholic faith centered on devotion to the Virgin of San Juan de Los Lagos. Her spiritual journey included Pilgrimages to Mexico throughout her life – acts of faith that underscored her enduring connection to her heritage and beliefs.
Known for her honesty and strength of character, Esperanza was a loving and caring woman who never hesitated to speak the truth. Her presence was a guiding force for those around her – steadfast in values and generous in spirit.
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
