Mom a year has just passed that we lost you. We decided to get together on Saturday May 10th which as you know is the  date you celebrated with your mom in Mexico. Maria played the music she said you liked and Ruben made carne Asada. I know that you and dad were happy that we are trying to keep the family together. How we missed you both. 
mom and dad I am still going to physical therapy from my fall that occurred while visiting you on dads birthday. I have been trying yo understand why this happened and everyone tells me that it happened for a reason. My knee was badly bruised and it has taken me almost a month to be able to walk without any help or my brace. I use one of the canes that belonged to you and it also makes me feel close to you. Please mom and dad continue to protect us and keep us safe. Big hugs and kisses.

Hi Mom and Dad, Easter is this weekend and it will be the first year that the both of you will not be here. The holidays were tough to get thru but everyone made an effort to be together and I am sure that you were watching from up above. The family is doing fine and we try to get together to go visit you. Hi Mom,
It has been awhile since i last wrote you something. It will soon be 3 months that you left us and it is still hard to accept. I know that with time it is supose to get easier. 

We are taking the kids on vacation at the end of the month. They wanted to go to Hawaii but we could not afford that. Maybe if we save up for James graduation we can go and this will be his gift. We have planned a 5 day 4 night cruise to Baja/Catalina. It is going to be a suprise so please don't send the boys any clues. Hehehe. I thought about you when we were making the arrangements and how i would have wanted you to go. I know that you were terrified of cruise's but I honestly think that you would have enjoyed yourself. Please watch over us especially during our vacation.

I saw the family not that long ago. We call each other but it is not the same as getting together. We all got our guest book and it turned out beautiful. It has messages from love ones and pictures that we laugh at. The girls all got a necklace with your finger print on it and a special saying on the other side. How nice it would have been if something like this was offered to us when dad passed away. I wear the necklace to work everyday and I catch myself rubbing the finger print during the day. It makes me feel close to you. Martha mentioned that took her necklace to be blessed and I plan on doing the same thing. James's treatment was finally approved by the insurance company and so far he has had 2 treatments. I know that with you watching over us that  you and dad made this happen for us. Thank you mom and dad for putting in a special word to God for this to happen. Now we just need to continue to hope and pray that this will cure him and not cause him to loose his eyesight. I know that if you were still alive when we got the news you would have been so excited. I believe that all your prayers were finally answered but it is a shame that you were already in heaven.

Mom and Dad we love you so much and I am sorry that we never told you both enough. We ask that you continue to watch over the family and protect us all. Until next time.

Hi Mom,

I went to see You and Dad early today. I was so surprised to still see the flowers I left the two of you last week. Today I took You a yellow gladiola from my front yard. It looked so pretty. I guess I'm not that bad at growing flowers as I thought I was.

Yesterday was the 4th of July and I missed you very much. Carlos made breakfast and told Titi to come over. The four of us were in the dining room and then when Carlos finished and got up, the chair You usually sat in was empty, but i could feel you there with us. My eyes started to tear up. Titi asked if I was alright cuz she could see that I was missing you. The pain is still with us but I know You and Dad are together. 

Sadly, everyone went their separate ways on the 4th cuz its so hard to get together on a Thursday, but I'm sure we all thought of You and Dad having your own fireworks with all the family. Take care of us from above. We love you both!!!

Hola Mom,

I did not see the girls this week but maybe next week we can get together. I see that  no one has been on your page in awhile. I check it every day which kind of helps me get thru the day since I no longer can check on you when I would call you.

The 4th of July is next week and I remember how much you loved the holidays because it was yet another day for the family to get together and have a BBQ and a few drinks. 

I am doing some what better but only time will heal all the pain we are feeling. 

I was gardening this past weekend and thought about you the whole time I was triming the roses and every once in awhile I woud glance over at the bedroom window where you slept when you stayed with us. It was bitter/sweet. 

Mom I miss you and dad so much and i would give anything to have you here to celebrate the 4th with us.

Hi Mom,

Father's day has come and gone. I woke up sad and moody that day but tried hard not to show it. Ken's family got together at his brothers house but I did not go so instead I had several hours alone to myself. I was grateful that they understood. His brother and wife sent me some flowers to cheer me up so I put them by dads picture.

Tomorrow I am meeting Anna, Maria and Martha at the cementary and after we can have lunch and then go to walmart like we use to do everytime we went to visit dad.  With your anniversary coming this weekend we wanted to make sure that you have flowers. Hopefully the decorations that we place will not be stollen.

I have been trying to stay in touch with the family and hopefully as the holidays come closer we all stay in touch.

Everyone at work has been great as I try to deal with you gone. I think of you and dad every day and just continue to remind my friends to cherish every moment with there love ones and to never take each other for granted as I feel we sometimes did with you and dad. 

I know that as parents your job now is to watch and protect us from heaven which helps give me piece of mind that you are never really gone from us.

I am still trying the best I can to stay strong and not cry in front of the boys but I know that this will take time.

Well Mom today was such an emotional day for me.  My Nicole, has started a new chapter in her life.  She left to Washington, D.C. for the summer. I was filled with so many different emotions; first I was sad because this will be the first summer she will be away from us; second she has never been away by herself for so long and it being in a different State; third we are so very proud of all her accomplishment; she has become such a beautiful young lady.  I was trying so hard not to cry, but you know me I turned out just like you a crier. I did not want to let my little girl leave and I held her so tight...and yet I was so excited for her and that Danny & I were able to offer her this great opportunity, to let her spread her wings and experience what life has out there for her. We could not stand in her way, but mom I have to say that I think I was feeling exactly the way you were feeling 13 years ago when I came to you and dad and told you that Danny, Nicole and I were moving to Virginia. I could see your eyes tear up I know you were happy for us, but yet you could not imagine us being so far away. I had this HUGE lump in my throat and I felt like I was losing my baby.  Even thou you had 7 kids you always said you loved us all the same. And you had to say goodbye to all 7 of us, because we were all starting are lives. I am hurting so bad with just kid. 

So when we came home from the airport the house felt so empty and extra quite, it was just so weird that when we came upstairs, Nicole's dog Koko went straight to Nicole's room like wondering where is she, and laid on her bed for a while.  It was the cuties thing. 

Even thou I know Nicole is only away for the summer, it hurts just as bad as when we lost you. I feel sick to my stomach and have this lump in my throat!!! Please give me the strength to be strong for her and help me easy the pain of losing you.  I miss you and dad so very much, but it does give me comfort knowing & believing that you are with dad and both of you are watching over us and are also pain free.

Another saturday is here and again I had the urge to pick up the phone to call you. Today is a gloomy day but these were the kind of days that I would always tell you that I loved.  
It is supose to be a hot summer this year and you no longer need to worry about your feet swelling and hurting as you walk. What I would do to just be able go over to visit with you again and have dinner with you. I would even sit thru watching Don Francisco and promise not to complain. I miss our silly conversations and our glasses of wine. 

It makes me happy to see all these messages to you and to read how deeply you and dad were loved and how difficult it has been for everyone to let go. We cannot take each other for granted and assume that we will see each other during the holidays or at a family party. We need to stay close as you would have wanted it to be.

We cannot let the familys grow apart and not see each other whenever we can. Since both of you are now with your parents and siblings we only have each other.

I know its time to let you go but I find myself opening up your guest book and feel the need to write more. Today is our 33rd anniversary and all I can think of is how I miss you so much. Carlos and the kids are trying hard to help me. They catch me shedding tears for you every now and then. It just hurts so much to know that you are not here with us. I go visit you and Dad on Fridays now because on Thursdays they take the flowers down. I just want to let you know one more time that I love You and Dad so much. Hi Mom

I am so happy that your page was not closed because I wanted to write another message to you. I was eating a Cajeta lollipop that Anna gave me the other day. I thought of you and I remember that we both ate them while watching our soap operas. 

Today was the boys last day of school and when I went to get Ryan from school I found him crying. At first I thought he had fallen or was hurt but instead he said that he will be missing his friends and upset that he may not be able to do things with them during the summer. He also said that I will not be home too much during the summer because I have to work and that broke my heart. Ryan and I had planned to go out to lunch just the two of us but he was too upset to go out somewhere. I told him we would go where ever he wants but instead just wanted to come home. It was so sad to see him cry and knowing that nothing I can say or do would cheer him up. I am guessing that he is seeing me in the same way, when it has been hard to cheer me up or to even want to do something. All I want to do is just be left alone, which is not healthy. Please help each and everyone one of us be strong and may the pain we feel began to fade.

We are suppose to go to Kens brothers home for Fathers Day but as of now I am not sure if I am up to going. I know that we need to go on and try to be happy because that is what you and dad would want, BUT as of right now I am not there yet. 

Dad another Fathers Day without you here but in our hearts you are with us. Happy Anniversary to the both of you and I will make sure to have a glass of wine in your honor (maybe a tequila shot or two)

Well it has been 1 month since God has called you to be by his side.  These past few weeks have been so hard, not only because we all miss you so very much, but it is just so hard to believe you are no longer here with us. Also because my one and only baby girl (Nicole) will be going away for the summer, 2 1/2 months to be exact.  If you remember me telling you how excited Nicole was when she found out that she had been selected by her professor from school for this internship program they have ever year.  They select the top 10 students out of 60 to go to Washington D.C. to do this internship. I'm just being selfish and I don't want her to know that I'm feeling scarred and how much I will miss her. I don't want her to worry about me. She told Danny maybe she should not go because she's worried about me and she knows how much I am hurting from losing you so recently and mom she is also grieving for you.  Please give me the strength to be strong for her. And PLEASE give her your blessing and watch over her everyday.  

Danny and I are so very blessed to have such a wonderful daughter like her.  We thank God every day for this blessing.  I remember every time I would call and talk with you, you would Always ask about Nicole & Danny always caring and wondering how the are doing.  I will always love you for loving and caring for my family, no matter what you had going on or worries you had.  And that is something I will always pass on to Nicole, always be caring and think of others.  And mom I have to say she does.  

I want you to know that something that brings me some comfort is your green shawl...I wear it when I'm in my Lucy room watching TV or when I'm on my laptop and especially when I'm taking my afternoon nap.  It just makes me feel good because it sort of feels like your arms around me giving me a BIG hug like you use to!!! I sure do miss those hugs. I will always treasure that.

I do want to let you know that your birdies are adjusting living in San Diego. Koko gets a little crazy but it is working out.  I love them just as much as you did. Nicole did rename them. The white/blue is now "Lalo" and the yellow is "Lala" (she a lil more bossy...that's  what Danny said). But the 4 of us love the birdies.

Like I said this is such a hard month for me (all of us really) well its also Father's day this weekend and your wedding anniversary. Maybe now that you are in heaven with Dad and all your brothers you can finally dance on these special days. 

I know it wont be the same without you, but we will share a special toast for both of you. I will love you both forever. You will always be in my heart.

I can't believe that it is already one month today since God called you to be with Him and Dad because it still does not feel real. I catch myself picking up the phone to call you and tell you that I am going over so we can go to walmart and then get something to eat afterwards, but then it hits me, you are not here. I know you are in heaven with all your loved ones who went before you and prepared the way for your arrival. It hurts so bad inside but at the same time I am happy knowing that you are being taken care of. I will miss not having you here to celebrate your anniversary. I was already hoping to make plans to go to one of your favorite places...Palm Springs. Last year we had so much fun going out to eat and drinking in the room, having Paulina give us a make-over and just laughing the night away. We all had a good time that we said maybe the next time we went we would try to get more of the family to go. I know its not going to be the the same this year but I am guessing that you will be celebrating with my Ita, Ito, Dad and all your brothers.

Pretty soon they will be closing your guest book and I will not be able to write you messages, but in my thoughts and in my prayers I can continue to communicate with you. 

I read Cocoyito last message to you and I to want to say I am sorry for my part in not taking respondility in making sure the Virgen De Guadalupe statue on dads niche was taken care of.

I recently received a card in the mail and it read " A tree has been dedicated in memory of the life of Socorro Gonzalez". A contribution to Tree People has been made by my credit union. This card brought sadness and happiness at the same time. The sadness is that physically you are no longer with us but the happiness is that a tree was planted in memory of you. The fact that you loved plants and trees and you had a green thumb was a perfect gift.

Father's day is this weekend and it is going to be even harder because you too will not be here. And with your anniversary a week later the only thing that will make me happy that day is knowing that you will be reunited with our family up in heaven and celebrating like you use to when you were here with us. Better yet it may be the best anniversary because I know that you will be dancing the night away.

Bueno pues voy a probar por tercera vez. Estuvimos las cuatro en la casa de Susie el Jueves y nos reimos tanto de ver las fotos con los peinados, ropa y sombreros que todos tenemos puesto. Que estabamos pensando? Ninguna de nosotros tenia un buen ojo para la moda...ha,ha,ha. Todos los fotos se ven chistosos. Viendo las fotos se que eramos una familia amorosa y feliz. I went to visit you and dad at the cemetery on Friday and I was so surprised to see that the Virgen De Guadalupe statues were up already. They looked beautiful!!! I started crying because we should have had the Virgen up for dad a long time ago so that you could have seen her on his niche. I am so sorry that we didn't get it done right away. I hope you are looking down on us and feel proud that we did something right away this time. I know you and dad loved us and we love you too. I pray every night before going to sleep for you, dad and the rest of the family. Keep us close and help us to get along without you.

It is hard to believe you are not here with us any longer.  As hard as it is missing you, you are no longer in pain and at your husbands side again.  

I will always remember the warm smile you offered me every time we saw each other.  And the last memory when my mom and dad showed up unexpectedly at our last party, the look of joy and  the biggest smile (and most genuine smile I have ever seen) shone on your face.  That is a memory I will never forget.

I will always hold dear the years you lived with Susie, James, Ryan and I.  It was a pleasure to share in your daily life as well as have you share in ours.

As the family gathered today for Cecy's 1st Holy Communion celebration I felt the table was not complete because you we're not joining us as you always have. Those were fun crazy times and at least we have our memories that we can cherish and always remember.

I am finding it difficult to express in words how empty i feel right now. All I know is that I miss you so much. It is hard to imagine our lives without you. Everyone continues to tell me that you are in a better place and that you are watching and protecting our family and that is why God has chosen to take you away. I wish we had the chance to see you and hug you one last time but I know that I am being selfish but I was not ready to let you go.

I also know that one day we will all be together and I will finally see you dancing with dad because you are happy and no longer suffering or in pain.

You were the best mom anyone would have been lucky to have and all you and dad wanted from us was to be a close and loving family. I pray that as you and dad look down from above that we have made you proud. 

Our family will always have our memories to look back on BUT the one thing that I will always remember is what you taught me and that there is  "No bond  greater as that between a parent and a child". 

I remembered reading this once as it brought tears to my eyes, and now I will share this with you.

 After my Grandma Raquel past away over 12yrs ago I realized Life was to Short, u never know when its your time. it showed me how precious my grand parents were to me. which is why i always said good bye to you like i was never going to see you again. Im sorry i wasn't able to see you as much as possible, but you know i Loved You So, So much. u were always so happy to see me, and us when ever we came around. You were such an amazing Abuelita, and i miss You so much. u thought us how important it is to Love and Cherish our loved ones. That Family traditions, birthday parties and just Visits every once in a While, can be the most important time in our lives. you will be Missed at every Party and get together, because i will always look to an empty Chair, and know that you are there sitting and watching, with a Big smile on your face, pointing to Ito, to look at how Wonderful your Family is Living. I'm thankful that you were able to meet my husband, and most importantly, my son. You always knew I would marry and give you a boy, for my Dad. Mom I can never say goodbye to you because I could never bear the pain.  Instead I say "Te Amo" mom until we meet again. Oh how I miss our special talks about when you were growing up with your 7 brothers and meeting dad, our talks would go on for hours, and I would ask you how do you remember all these memories and you would tell me I don't know I just do and we would just laugh. And I would come home and tell Nicole and Danny about our talks and  they could hear and see how excited I was just sharing the stories you had shared with me. And that is a tradition I will continue with Nicole and with my grandkids (if I ever get any.)

I know you are with Dad, Ito & Ita, and all your brothers having a big celebration because they all have been waiting for you...and that is what brings me comfort, is knowing in my heart that you are no longer in pain and you are not suffering.

When I first found out about you going off to heaven, I cried because you were no longer with us. I didn't know what to say because I didn't want to think it was your time yet. But then I stopped and realized you are reunited with your true love, Lalo. It makes me so happy to know that you two are together again always watching over us. You will forever be with me, my guardian angel, and that makes everything better. It's hard on the family, but better for you and Lalo because you guys are in no pain. Time will only heal and the best medicine is laughing at all our great memories together. I love you!!

Ita... No hay palabras para decirte lo que siento. Diosito te llamo para reunirte al lado de mi Ito. Solo le doy gracias a Dios porque ya no vas a sufrir aqui. Un Angel mas arriba. Te quieremos mucho y siempre estaras en nuestros corazones! Un abrazo Ita!

Ita, 

It was a sad, sad day when you passed away. Everyone was heartbroken and crying because they all loved you so much, and still do. It seems like a lifetime ago that we were all sitting there, mourning your death, because things feel different now. I can honestly say that I don't feel the stinging ping of sadness when I think of you, or see your old pictures, as I thought I would when this first happened. I think that is because I know you're up there in heaven, watching over us, your family. I know that you are with Ito now, and the two of you are enjoying the everlasting paradise you both truly deserve. It feels good to know this, and to know that you led a long, lasting, fulfilling life, full of love, happiness, and family. I am glad that you are no longer in pain as well, because where you are, there is no pain, only bliss. 

Now, when I think of that night, when we were all together with you one last time, I won't think of the sounds of sadness, or the tears that were shed. I will think of how amazing it was, that so many people were there at such an hour. Because a beautiful, wonderful, amazing person, whose life touched all of them, had just left this earth, and they were all there just to say good bye to her, one last time. So, good bye Ita, I love you, and one day, hopefully in the distant future, I will see you again, on the other side.

Hoy fui a tu casa y senti muy feo no ver te siempre que te Iva a ver te desia ya llego por Quine lloravas y me soreias  y me abrasabas fuerte y cuando mi mama te llevava a mi casa me Desias lo mismo se que Estas en un lugar mejor al lado de mi Ito llenos de luz y Paz. Te queremos mucho Carlos yo y Los ninos te extranan mucho en la escuela resan el Rosario pensando en ti tenlo por seguro que nunca  te olvidaremos

  Quiero pedir te perdon por no estar mas a tu lado. Siempre me pedias que nunca te dejara sola y en unos tiempos no estaba ayi. No hay palabras para expresar cuanto te extraño. Mi vida jamás volvera a sentir se igual. Mis noches se sienten vacias y las mañanas se oyen en silencio. 
Hay dias que lloravas por mi Ito y dias que te sentias mal. Nunca pense que tan pronto te juntarias con el pero eso es lo unico que me da paz en estos momentos dificiles. 
Eran los dos como padres para mi. Desde pequeña me cree con ustedes y para toda mi vida les sere agradecida. Voy a guardar las memorias maravillosas que me dieron y prometo resar les ir a la iglesia y hacer todas las cosas con buenas intenciones y de corazon como me enseñaron. 
Te Quiero con toda mi alma Ita! Que Dios te reciba con brazos abiertos. Que por fin te quite tu dolor y que estes sonriendo desde el cielo con mi Ito. Protejenos a todos que ya son nuestros angeles de la guardia. <3

Last time we were together your knees, side and back were really hurting. You were so, so tired. There was nothing I could do for you but offer you tylenol. I will surely miss our Tuesdays, but Martha and I have decided to continue getting together, knowing that you are with us. We will continue traditions You and Dad taught us of celebrating Birthdays, Special occasions and Holidays, or even just getting together. You always told us since we were young that Family is precious. We shall toast to You and Dad knowing that you are no longer in pain and you are where you always said you wanted to be...by his side. Watch over us from heaven, take away our pain as God has taken yours. I know you are dancing like you never have.
