OBITUARY

Alexandre "Pax" Paxenos Bonnen El-Khouri

November 29, 2010October 14, 2020

Alexandre Paxenos “Pax” Bonnen el-Khouri was a ray of light in our lives who passed from this life at nine years of age on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Born November 29, 2010, Pax is a devout Christian who is a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and attended Annunciation Orthodox School in Houston where he is known for his quick wit and beautiful heart. In a recent school assignment, he was asked “what is your favorite part of yourself?” He responded that his brain was his favorite part of himself. And it was. Through his love of math and science, he was already well on his way to achieving his goal of becoming a quantum physicist and had a dream of attending MIT. He was extraordinarily bright and creative and expressed himself through his drawings, joyful optimism, and his choice of the ever-present book he was reading. He had boundless energy, natural athleticism, and a competitive drive.

Pax is loved by his mother, Penelope Eleni Bonnen; father, Marc Camille el-Khouri; brothers, Sebastien and twin Luca; maternal grandparents Matina and the late David Bonnen of Angleton; paternal grandparents Gisela and Camille el-Khouri of Beirut, Lebanon; maternal uncles Greg Bonnen and wife Kim of Friendswood; Mark Bonnen and wife Wendy of Houston; Dennis Bonnen and wife Kim of Lake Jackson; paternal aunt Tanya and husband Stefan el-Khouri of Beirut, Lebanon, and numerous cousins and many extended family members. They all are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

Trisagion is scheduled for 10:30 am Friday, October 23rd followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral located at 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston.

"For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into song before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12

May his memory be eternal!

We are heartbroken to hear about our cousin Pax. We never got to meet him, but from reading about his life, how people perceived him, his goals, his attributes, and his relationship with his family, I know he was a remarkable person who made the world a little brighter. Our deepest sympathies to the family.

Pax brought so much joy and light to Becker, he was the sweetest. I always remembered that big smile of his and loved seeing him use his creative imagination to build such extraordinary things in the classroom. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. ❤️

Pax brought sweet, bright light to Becker. I have fond memories of watching him grow in his preschool years. He loved his parents and his brothers very much! We saw that everyday. His light will always shine.

Pax has remained in my heart since I taught him at Becker. Or I should say he taught me. I knew he was special the very first time we met. Being in Pax's world was magical. I am so very sorry he is gone. He would have done amazing things.
