Aline East Pugsley

Aline East Puglsey was born January 23, 1921 in San Benito, Texas to Rodger John East and Berta Lee Brown East. She married her childhood sweetheart, Frank Burruss Pugsley on May 7, 1943. They had a love affair to be envied. Their marriage lasted over 66 years until Frank's death in September 2009. She was on her high school debate team and the leading lady in every theatrical production. Many family tales were told of her outstanding performances.

Aline attended The University of Texas during WW II while Frank was serving overseas. After the war she moved with Frank to Schenectady, NY, Washington, DC and Chicago, Illinois during his career with General Electric Company. In 1952 Frank accepted a job with Baker Botts law firm in Houston, Texas. The rest of her life was lived in the family home in West University Place or at her beloved country home overlooking La Grange, Texas. She and Frank ended each day with a champagne toast to the sunset.

Aline was predeceased by her husband Frank and sister Maureen East Pennington. She is survived by her three children, John Pugsley and wife Kathleen, Susan Pugsley Patterson and husband Glenn and Nancy Pugsley and husband Michael Young as well as five grandchildren, Frank Pugsley and wife Ashley, Brian Patterson and wife Katie, Paul Pugsley and wife Victoria, Kathryn Patterson Tipton and husband Tyler, Jennifer Patterson Wright and husband Hunter and seven great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Vicki, Margie, Doris, Bertina, and LaVerne who have loved and cared for her the past 5 years.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
