Barry was born on February 5, 1956 in Orlando, Florida and was later raised in Houston, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas Barrett Ruth and Hazel Collins Ruth and his brother John Thomas Ruth.
Barry is survived by his children Amanda Ruth and grandson Nathaniel Ruth, Brandon Ruth and his wife Krystal Ruth; his sister Lynne Ruth, her children Tara Groda and Miranda Knerr; his nieces and nephew, Ashley Ruth, Jeffrey Ruth, and Jessica Knerr, as well as a large extended family and friends of whose life he most certainly touched.
He graduated from Bellaire High School. He later worked for many Houston area restaurants such as Katz and Trulucks, all while raising his two children through school. Barry was a broker at Landmark and was recently employed with Source Commodities.
Barry set high standards and was a wonderful role model for his children and grandson. Barry lived for family occasions, birthday celebrations, sporting events, or any other venue where he could root for his kids and grandson. His infectious smile, laugh, jokes and constant energy allowed him to make friends and fit in instantly, no matter the social setting. He always enjoyed taking his children and grandson on vacations and loved to travel with them. During all family gatherings and holiday events, Barry always cherished being the family cook.
It is always difficult to give adequate justice to the entirety of a person's life in a few paragraphs, but those who met Barry always knew that they had been touched by an extraordinary man of kindness, vigor, and exuberance.
The family also would like to thank family and friends. Service will be held at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet, Bellaire, TX 77401 on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow.
