Beverly grew up in a rural Ohio town as the eldest of 4 children with her loving parents. She had one brother and two sisters whom she helped to raise. She spoke fondly of her childhood, visiting her grandfather's farm, fishing with her father, being a tomboy while playing sports with the boys, and heading to town for a Saturday movie. Though they didn't have much growing up, Beverly would've never counted her wealth for poor because they used an outhouse & had a root cellar. She grew up happy, healthy, and loved her family, dearly.
From around ages 8 - 11, during WWII, she lived in the small family home located on Brooks Run Road that boasted a quaint garden in the back yard and small, well-groomed front yard. With a coal fireplace and wood burning stove, she would recount times during the war when her father would hunt for rabbits or birds for supper. The family home sat near a cabinet maker's shop and a one-room schoolhouse, across the way from a creek where Beverly attended primary school and excelled in all of her scholastics. Once in High School, Beverly obtained certifications in shorthand and typing, was active in her school government, and always strived for excellence while setting high standards for herself.
Upon, graduating from Bellaire High School in 1951, Beverly worked as an assistant at a law firm. She later married and moved to Houston, Texas, eventually settling in her beloved home in Bellaire, Texas. Beverly was a loving homemaker raising three sons before returning to work. She retired as an executive administrator from the Transco Tower Pipeline Co. (now Williams Co.) in Houston, Tx.
Beverly was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an accomplished piano player & singer, and she loved classical, jazz, sing, and popular music from her time. During the Holidays, she loved to entertain by playing her favorite Holiday songs on the piano, singing to her family and hosting gatherings at her home. Beverly was a renowned baker always making her highly anticipated, top-notch desserts from scratch, she was an excellent cook, and enjoyed making dinner for special events that created wonderful, lifetime memories for her and her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed sports having attended most of her sons' baseball, football, and basketball games, as well as enjoyed cheering for her favorite professional teams. She was also a patriotic American who utilized her ability to vote in every election possible, as well as passed this patriotic duty onto her children and taught them to vote for their convictions and become upstanding citizens.
The rock that held her family together, she will also be remembered for her happy, kind, loving, funny, gentle and nurturing personality. She was a woman who garnished respect and encompassed the morality of a proper lady. Beverly will always be remembered as a loyal, dedicated, and hard-working woman who deeply valued her relationships with her friends, family, and neighbors.
