

She was born in Greenville, Texas to Willye (Bill) Alice Fulton McDaniel and Virgil Clyde Warren. She attended Greenville High School, and was a member of the Flaming Flashes drill team. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, and while at Baylor, she met and married Gerald P Elder who was later killed in World War II. When the war was over, Ben Terry, who was home after his service in the Pacific, found his best friend, Billie, who he had known at Baylor. They were married June 12, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia where he was stationed, and remained a loving couple for 66 years.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Terry, daughter, Ellen Terry, two grandsons, Benjamin Terry and Eugene Terry, and four nephews. She was a member of River Oaks Baptist Church for 50 years and was faithfully committed to leading a life in Jesus Christ.
She loved to travel and has been around the world. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge and she was a member of a bridge group that played several times a week. She was grateful to her good friend Barbara Valdes, and Rosa Duran for making her last days special. She led a wonderful life here on earth, and she passed quietly into the Lord’s hands on Sunday, June 24, 2012, where she will live in peace for eternity.
There will be a brief service, followed by a reception, at Earthman Funeral 6700 Ferris St Bellaire, TX 77401 on Friday, June 29th at 2PM.
