

Survivors of the Holocaust, his parents, he, and his brothers moved to Quebec, Canada to begin a new life and prepare to move to the U.S. Once in Houston, Boris attended Johnston Middle School and graduated San Jacinto High School in 1955. In 1959 he became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Boris proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1965 as a Medical Specialist and Surgeon Assistant, active duty and reserves.
During his time at the University of Texas, Boris learned and excelled at the game of handball and became a national handball champion with the United States Handball Association. He competed for the next 50 years all over the country, displaying his athletic ability and love of the game.
While living in Austin in 1965, he met his wife Cynthia, whom he married in February of 1966. Boris was a dedicated and loving husband and a wonderful father to his two children. Family was extremely important to him and held more value than any material object ever could. He was a selfless, loving, outgoing and compassionate person who never complained and always remained optimistic.
Boris was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia; his two children, Edmond “Ed” and Rebecca; his two beautiful granddaughters Alexis and Isabella; four brothers and their wives, Bill, Felix and his wife Barbara, Hymie, and Dr. Lorne Label and his wife Carol; his step-mother Sara; his niece and nephew and their spouses, Shayna Yassine and her husband Ali, David and his wife Liz, and other nieces, great nieces and great nephews as well as many other loving friends and family.
An intimate, graveside service was held Wednesday, November 29th at Beth Yeshurun Cemetery, 1037 Post Oak Rd., Houston, TX 77055. A celebration of life will be held later to celebrate Boris’s life with friends and loved ones.
