

Brenda grew up in Greenville, Texas, where she attended Greenville High School, excelling as a cheerleader and earning the titles of "Most Beautiful" and High School Sweetheart. After graduation, she moved to Deer Park, Texas, where she worked as an Attendance Clerk at Deer Park Junior High for 20 years while raising her two beloved sons, Kyle and Blane Johnson.
Brenda's life took a beautiful turn when she met her soulmate, Mike Kardatzke. They married and created a loving home, eventually moving to Yellowstone, where they cherished years of adventure together before settling in Pearland, Texas. Brenda was a devoted wife, cherished mother, and incredible nana, holding her family close to her heart.
A member of the Southside Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas, for over 35years, Brenda’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy in the beauty of nature, loved singing, and enjoyed playing Mexican Train. Brenda was a warm-hearted person who never met a stranger, always making those around her feel loved and valued.
Brenda is survived by her beloved husband, Mike Kardatzke; her sons, Kyle and Blane Johnson; her daughter-in-law, Lisa; her stepsons, Mark, Tim, and Keith Kardatzke; and her cherished grandchildren, Haley and Christian. She also leaves behind her brother, Kenny Sargent, and his wife, Debbie; her nephews Derek Sargent and his wife Alice, and Dwain Sargent; her niece Brandie Fitzgerald and her husband Tony; her nephew Cody Sargent and his partner Samantha; her great-nephew Ryan Sargent; and her great-nieces Jennifer, Sydney, Lauren, Gracie, Riley, Eryn, Micah, Lindsay, and great-great-nieces Chloe and Clara. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Katherine Sargent.
Brenda, thank you for being a wonderful role model and for loving us all unconditionally. Your memories and traditions will live on through us. You will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
A funeral service for Brenda will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Earthman Funeral Directors, 4525 Bissonnet St, Bellaire, TX 77401. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at Wellborn Cemetery, 4119 Greens Prairie Rd, College Station, TX 77845.
All guests are encouraged to wear leopard print in Brenda's honor.
