Cary Blaine Davis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Cary Blaine Davis, who left this world far too soon.

Born on October 11, 1957, Cary was the beloved middle child of Albert and Ruth Feldman Davis. He grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, where he developed the easygoing personality, quick wit, and lifelong friendships that remained with him throughout his life. Cary was preceded in death by his father, Albert Davis, and is survived by his devoted mother, Ruth Feldman Davis, whose love and support were a constant throughout his life.

Cary dedicated more than three decades of his career to AT&T, where he worked from 1976 until his retirement in 2010. His career took him to Austin, Texas, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues through his hard work, dependability, and loyalty.

After retiring, Cary fulfilled a lifelong dream by building his home on the Bolivar Peninsula, where he embraced the coastal lifestyle he loved. He quickly became an active and valued member of the community, always willing to lend a helping hand, visit with neighbors, or share stories with friends. Whether he was enjoying a day of fishing, spending time on the beach, or simply watching the waves roll in, Cary found peace and happiness by the water. Bolivar Peninsula was more than where he lived—it was home, and the community became an extension of his family.

Cary is survived by his loving mother, Ruth Feldman Davis; his brothers, Stacy Paul Davis and his wife, Janet Davis, and Jan Sylvan Davis. He was a proud uncle to Sarah Davis Gonatas and her husband, Nick Gonatas; Jamie Danae Castille, her husband, Brandin Williams, and their sons, Jacob Weaver and Bodhi Williams; and Jade Davis and her fiancé, Zachery Atherton.

He also leaves behind many beloved cousins, extended family members, neighbors, and dear friends whose lives he enriched. Cary was preceded in death by numerous cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

Those who knew Cary will remember his wonderful sense of humor and the stories that could always make people smile. One family favorite dates back to his childhood, when he insisted on getting braces—only to decide he no longer wanted them and famously removed them himself. It was classic Cary—independent, determined, and always doing things his own way.

Just ten days before his passing, Cary attended the 50th reunion of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. He had an incredible time reconnecting with classmates, reminiscing about old times, and, to everyone's surprise, even stepping into the photo booth for pictures that will now be treasured by all who knew him. It was a joyful celebration of lifelong friendships and a wonderful final gathering with so many people who had been part of his life's journey.

Cary will be remembered for his gentle spirit, generous heart, quiet kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He found joy in life's simple pleasures—a day on the water, a conversation with a neighbor, a fishing trip, or time spent with those he loved. Though his passing was sudden and leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain with us forever.
